The function of these records is to document the activities of the advisory councils of the Commission. Included are records of the Council of Graduate Deans, the Council of Faculty Presidents, the Council of Nursing Deans, the Council of Chief Academic Officers, the Council of Deans of Arts and Sciences, the Council on Social Work Education, and the Council of Deans of Education. The records contain correspondence, minutes of meetings, constitutions and by-laws, rosters of members, and memoranda. The primary subject discussed is higher education. The beginning or expansion of academic programs was most often the central issue.
